Terms of Service

Effective date: April 30, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

convention.sh is operated by Huellen Software Consulting, LLC (Illinois LLC #13344175), doing business as convention.sh ("convention.sh", "we", "our", or "us").

By accessing or using convention.sh, including the hosted MCP server at mcp.convention.sh, our website, and related tooling (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced on this page or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

The Service provides a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that delivers a curated library of TypeScript coding conventions to MCP-aware coding agents on demand. The Service does not perform AI inference, does not call any large language model on the request path, and does not collect or process user source code.

3. Plans and License

Your right to use the Service depends on the plan to which you subscribe:

  • Free. For personal, non-commercial use only. The Free plan is suitable for hobby projects, learning, open-source contributions, and other non-commercial work. The Free plan may not be used on, in, or for any project that generates or supports revenue, is owned by an employer, or is operated by or on behalf of any company, organization, governmental body, or agency. Free-tier requests are subject to rate limits.
  • Pro. Commercial use, limited to a single named developer. One Pro subscription covers exactly one human individual; sharing API tokens, accounts, or credentials across multiple developers is prohibited.
  • Team. Commercial use, unlimited developers within a single organization. A Team subscription covers all developers employed by, or contracted to, one organization. It does not extend to subsidiaries, affiliates, parent organizations, or other organizations.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for the permitted purposes corresponding to your plan.

4. Accounts and API Tokens

Paid plans require an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for safeguarding your API tokens, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at [email protected] of any unauthorized use of your account or tokens.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

5. Subscriptions, Billing, and Refunds

Paid plans are billed annually in advance through our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you authorize the processor to charge your payment method on a recurring annual basis at the rate disclosed at the time of purchase.

Subscriptions automatically renew on their anniversary unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period.

All fees are final. No refunds are guaranteed. We do not refund unused portions of a subscription, mid-term cancellations, downgrades, or any other partial period, except where strictly required by applicable law. Refunds, if any, are issued at our sole discretion.

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with reasonable notice. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Free plan for any commercial purpose, or otherwise exceed the scope of your plan.
  • Bulk-extract, scrape, mirror, or republish the convention corpus or any substantial portion of it.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service.
  • Use the Service to build, train, or improve a product or model that competes with the Service.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, token scoping, abuse controls, or other protections.
  • Probe, scan, or otherwise attempt to discover vulnerabilities in the Service except under a written authorization for coordinated disclosure.
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Transmit malware, malicious code, or unlawful content.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these prohibitions, without notice and without refund.

7. Your Content

The Service does not require you to upload code or other content. To the extent you submit any content to us (e.g., feedback, support requests), you grant convention.sh a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use that content for the purpose of operating, improving, and supporting the Service. You retain all ownership of your submissions.

We do not collect, store, or train any model on your source code. See our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including the convention corpus, the website, the MCP server software, and all related design, code, and branding, is owned by Huellen Software Consulting, LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, trade-secret, and other intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license granted in Section 3, no rights are granted to you by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.

Convention text is licensed to you solely for use as just-in-time reference material by your authorized agents consistent with these Terms. You may not extract, reproduce, distribute, publish, or use the corpus to build a competing product or dataset.

9. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the Service that temporarily affect availability and may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that any content delivered by the Service is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. You are solely responsible for any code produced by your agents using the Service and for the correctness, security, and licensing of that code.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL HUELLEN SOFTWARE CONSULTING, LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions, the foregoing applies to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Huellen Software Consulting, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any rights of a third party, or (d) any content you submit to us.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including for breach of these Terms or any conduct that we believe in good faith poses a risk to the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, and 16) shall survive.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you irrevocably consent to personal jurisdiction and venue therein.

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these Terms.

15. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Huellen Software Consulting, LLC concerning the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them without restriction. Notices to you may be sent to the email address associated with your account or posted on the Service.
